How long should my residential pump last?

A residential pump is much like an appliance. Industry average lifespan is 5-7 years. There are many factors in how long a pump lasts. Usage and power supply are very important factors, along with proper installation, system sizing, and application. For conventional well systems, having the a properly sized well tank enables the pump to run for long enough to dissipate the heat the motor generates during startup.
